Professional counselors help clients identify their goals and find solutions to their problems. Counselors can help people improve their self-esteem, their relationships, and their coping skills.

What can counseling help with?

Counseling can help a person reduce their stress, improve their mental health, deal with trauma in their past, and improve their relationships. It can also help with mental health issues like feeling depressed, anxious, grief or loss, addictions, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, abuse or trauma.

What is your policy regarding confidentiality?

All information that you provide is confidential and cannot be revealed without your permission. With a signed release of information, I will be happy to work in conjunction with your medical treatment team, probation officer, dependency case manager, etc. There are a few exceptions in which I am mandated by the law to breach confidentiality, which include if you are at risk of hurting yourself or hurting others. I am also a mandated reporter and report any suspicions of child abuse to proper authorities.

What is your cancellation policy?

If it is necessary to cancel or re-schedule your appointment, you must provide 48 hours notice for cancellation prior to your scheduled appointment time. You will be charged a fee for missed or cancelled appointments unless you have provided 48 hour advance notice. Fees are outlined in my Services tab.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently in-network with Aetna, Optum, Cigna, and United Healthcare. I am considered an out-of-network provider for all other insurance plans. Many insurance plans do provide for the opportunity to apply for reimbursement for therapy services received from an out-of-network provider. Please call your insurance company prior to your first appointment and request further information regarding your out-of-network benefits.

What is my co-pay?

Please contact your insurance provider to find out what your co-pay may be. Sometimes this information is listed on your insurance card as the rate for specialty providers.

Are you a doctor? Can you prescribe medication?

I am not a doctor and I do not prescribe medication. However when appropriate I will refer you to a prescribing provider for a medical evaluation. Additionally, I will be happy to work in conjunction with your medical treatment team.

What is the best way to contact you?

E-mail is the best way to contact me regarding general questions, as I am typically booked and very rarely do I have time to jump on a call between sessions. If you call, please leave a voicemail. I will attempt to return your call in 24-48 business hours. If it is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
